ok so i started the install for my c clip eliminators no prob so far but have had some guys tell me that my rear end will leak from them not sealing ? i bought them from strange the new street/strip eliminators. has any of you had any problem's ?

well after bragging about my c-clip eliminators NOT leaking, cuz everybody elses does, i thought man im good, well after about 5 years of use while i was working on the car a few weeks ago i noticed the left side is leaking and leaking pretty bad......... check out, i think Strange now makes a street c-clip eliminator that uses tapered bearings instead of the roller bearings that arent really good at handling side loads when street driving. i know im gonna change mine to that setup you may already have that setup if you bought the street one... see if they're tapered bearings
hello and thanks for your reply. yes i have the street kit maybe i can go 5 years and not have a leak LOL after installing them ya i can see were they would leak so i used seller on backing plate and the kit them selfs that i hope will do the trick if they want to spring a leak Thank you again you gave me some peice of mind
i have the strange elim kit on my 8.5 rear. i took the backing plates off, notched the corners off area that sticks out and interferes with the elim block sealing completely to the backing plate, then ground the surface to make sure it was smooth. i used a bead of silicone between the b/p and housing, b/p and elim block, and between the 2 halfs on the elim block. i also got new gaskets to go between the b/p and elim block and b/p to the housing. this is my first experience with elims and took extra care in hopes to not have any leak issues.
All of you should just get Ford ends welded in and not worry about any leaks. Summit and Jegs sells them.

That makes sense.If you allready have them, then go with it. I had an issue and it affected my rear brakes horribly. Lube all over everything.
Well this is my first time with a 8.5 I always ran 12 bolts I was told that I needed to install them if I was going to race the car at the track. Was told they would not let me race with out them ? My car will prob run mid to low 11's maybe just maybe high 10. So I installed them not knowing about the ford ends and if I had to run ford parts on my gm/chevy than I should have bought a ford LOL. Noway will I own any other product than a gm or chevy. So the heck with those ford ends lol
