i started looking at replacement main bodies for my holley 800 dp since i dont use a choke, but i only see 750 or 850... no 800's. i'm not too sure on which way to go and if i'd need to replace the baseplate as well. anyone have any opinions on what to get/use?

Honestly, I'd just pick up one of the new Proform or Quick Fuel carbs. I was in the same boat, and it just made more sense to pick up a new carb. I ended up with a Dominator though, so go figure.

why dont you just take the carb apart andhave the choke horn milled off by a machine shop?Just a thought.

i thought about that. but if im gonna spend $$ to get this done, might as well kick in a few more bucks and get one that has even less air turbulence. besides, i think that 10% code is still working at summit! :D

What does the HP main body flow? Should be around high 700's? Thats what i run. Rocket added one for me, along with a fresh kit, and new base plate.

Yea just get the 750 body. 750 and 800 use the same baseplate with very little difference in venturi diameter. Some are the same out of the box. Both use drop leg boosters etc. You'll never know the difference.

Better yet get a k&n substack and get the same results no work. The venturi on the 800 is bigger than the 750.
