I just got a 1407 edelbrock for $125. It is said to only have 25 miles on it, but it has been sitting for a bit. It looks new as far as the fittings are concerned, but appears a bit weathered.

I have a 1406, am I correct in assuming I can pull the electric choke of the 1406 and put it on the 1407?

Hey, The 1406 and the 1407 choke kits carry differnt part numbers. So i dont know if they can be mixed or matched. If your familar with these carbs i would go head and take it off and try it. Heres the part numbers for each carb and choke kit.

1406 carb uses 1474 choke kit.
1407 carb uses 1478 choke kit.

Well, I wondered about that. Online search shows that if you want to convert a 1406 to a manual choke, to remove the 1405 or 1407 parts and install. So I am wondering if the opposite wouldn't hold true.

I wonder if the different part numbers are because the 1406 comes with an electric choke and not as many parts are needed for replacement.

That's why I asked.
