I am having a problem maybe someone can give a place to look. My turn signals - left signal, all tails lights flash. Right signal - ok till brake lites and signal stop. Anyone have any ideals? and where to look?

Thanks in advance.

I think you need to explain it a little better. This is what I think you mean... The left side works OK all the time, both the turn signal and the brake lights. The right side turn signal flashes OK as long as the brakes are not applied, and when you apply the brakes, it stops flashing. And if that is the case, do the lights stay on or off.

The left turn signal works but all lights (left right and center brake lite) will flash. The right signal works fine till brake is applied and only the brake lites work - no signal.

All other lights work - so far

Definitely check your grounds. Had the same thing happen because I forgot to ground from the battery to the body.

Seeing as the Malibu did not come with a center brake light, exactly what vehicle are we talking about?

Like LS said check grounds first, they make lights do the funky chicken if they're not connected properly. Other than that sounds like someone took the cheap way instead of running a 3rd wire for the 3rd light, and may have messed things up.

ScotSea, I didn't even think of that. It must have been an aftermarket light. The car did belong to an old lady that died last summer. I start there. Glad the weather is getting better to get me a test light and craw thru the car.

My vote is the aftermarket third brake light...Probably ran the wiring from both sides, or ran the lead from the turn signals, which is now acting as a series circuit for the turn signals... :-s
