Wires with plugs, where do they go?

i took a light tester to it when the key goes to the on position it lights so theres power to it, so i hooked it to the sensor, everything seems to be working fine, i think i have a bad temperature gauge, but that can be done down the road, it shouldnt overheat.
If you connect an analog gauge to a digital (on/off) sender, it will not work properly. The sender for gauge and for a lamp are different.
wait....well im not sure if they were switched out before. these gauges were installed before i got the car. the temperature gauge hooks up to a sensor in the passengers side head, so i guess the green wire just runs the temperature light in the car. would i have to get a new sensor that the gauge is hooked into on the passengers side head?
When swapping between lamps and gauges, the temperature wiring remains the same, just the sensor gets changed.

hmmm, maybe il look up sensors and try that, could be as simple as a new sensor. il look into that, thanks.
From your other thread about gauges, I see you have mechanical gauges, not electrical gauges, so the sensor with the green wire is not part of the issue.
so which sensor needs changed, the drivers side head or passengers side head.? to me the green wire that goes to drivers side is just for the light. the other one runs to gauge.
