drilling axles

Does anyone know if axles can be drilled for another bolt pattern? I have a ford 9" and want to drill for gm pattern.

It can be done, but I wouldn't bother with doing that to a set of stock axles. The original holes in the flange for access to the bearing retainer might be in the way as well.

Tom's KA axles come with both patterns, reasonable cost, American made 100%.
