yeah you missed something alright, did you read the article? They never used a carb at all They used the carb intake with a throttle body elbow on it :roll:

Your totally right, I didnt read the whole article and missed the fact that they were running FI on a carb intake. :oops: Sorry that I didnt see that. I guess that the hp is in the intake and has nothing to do with a carb. I was wrong, sorry for my confusion. ;)

I thought the whole point of the distributor retrofit kit was for racing classes that mandated a standard distributor ? I'm sure it will also appeal to people who want to stick with a simple distributor as well. Plus, it has provisions for a mechanical fuel pump which some race classes require, and aftermarket belt driven pumps are expensive where stock style pumps are dirt cheap. This also appeals to someone who wants simplicity for their street rod. It's not necessarily expensive because it's better, it's expensive because it's a niche item thats only going to appeal to a small percentage of people.

I think the stock ignition setup with the MSD computer is the better and more cost effective system.
