elcamino fuel tank in my wagon

I'd like to cut out the old spare tire bucket and install a new fuel tank from an el camino. Has anyone ever done this? It looks like it might work as I believe the el camino is as close as its gonna get to the wagon as far as the filler neck. I want to be able to move the rear frame rails in for a taller tire. thanks.
