You will need the correct Valve springs and new lifters for the 268 and a bigger intake. If you have a lot of traffic doesn't make sense to me to go bigger. You will also need more parts to help the cam work better. Like a stall converter and ring and pinion gears to help it go faster. With the 204/214 I would use new stock Valve springs and new lifters.

Sorry i explain myself wrong. In my city is a lot of traffic, so i only use my car mostly the weekends or when i need it, thats why i dont worry to much about fuel economy...

Ok, why when i install a bigger on a car with a automatic transmissio i have to change the torque converter. Why the affect the converter. Also i have a 4.1 to 1 rear end...

And the carb i see several models of 600, g50 ans 700 cfm, wich would be the better for the cam i have now...

Thanks....

If you go bigger these are the parts that are needed to help all the parts work together. The 268 will benefit from the higher stall converter. This is so the engine will get into its power band quicker. It will also help with being able to not have the car pulling at idle while stopped and allow it to idle without the transmission lugging the engine down.

Unless you have a lot of open road the to drive. I would recommend the smaller 204/214 . Otherwise I don't think you will be able to use the extra power and cost of all the needed parts. Just my opinion it is up to you what parts you want and how you want the car to preform.

Well im going to take your advice. This is the reason for why i ask in the first place. You guys here have far more experience than i have in this matter and i dont want to destroy the engine just because i became a little ambitious with the HP. So i really apreciatte your opinion on this...

OK i have the cam, you said an Edelbrock performer intake and carb. How much CFM, 600, 650 or more. Also i would need headers and a proper distributor. I have the stock oil pan that come with the engine or i would need a different one. And i would desperetly need a new radiator...

Thanks...

The 1406 600cfm will be fine. Headers will help the engine flow better. Stock Hei distributor is plenty good for what you need.
