I am doing a swap and am wondering if on a 1980 malibu can I use the charcoal canister line as a fuel return line on my ls1 motor?

you can use the hard line, but I'd replace all of the rubber with fuel injection hose and the correct clamps. It *shouldn't* build a ton of pressure, but if something breaks (regulator I'm thinking), it could see 60+ PSI. Some senders also have a restricted plug (think soldered line with a teeny hole drilled in it) at the tank, so you'll need to drill that out to full dimension.

I would just run the vette filter and mount it close to the tank, that way you won't have to run a return line all the way up to the engine bay, I'd reccommend using braided hose too.
