what do you guys think would be a a good fuel system for a blow thru carb on a bbc.
plan on making 850 hp with 5-6 psi. i have a holley hp 150 dont think it will be up to the task. what about maybe a stock type fuel injection pump with a bypass boost referenced regulator. i know i could just use a a 1000 but looking for a different maybe cheaper route.

Use the aeromotive pump.....dont cheap out or you will regret it also get the boost refrenced regulator....the motor will need the extra fuel when making boost.....I run -8 return line on my system....jmo

this is the first I've heard good about the race pumps, maybe they've fixed their problems.
I personally run walbro gsl392 pumps, very quiet and they move a ton of fuel.

people were having vapor lock problems, but from what I gathered with a little more research it seems the new seals have fixed the problem. I remember being bummed when I heard that because I really liked the idea of a mechanical pump, I may run one on my next project knowing the problems are fixed.

When it comes to boosted fuel systems, Aeromotive is the ONLY way to go. Pick up an A-1000 pump, and the recommended return style regulator (cant remember the part number) and then run the proper size feed and return lines (at least -8AN) and you will have a killer fuel system that will never let you down. In my experience, the A1000 does not even need the step down box to run it on the street with a carbed, blowthrough setup. The pump simply isnt having to work very hard to move the fuel so the pump doesnt get all that hot. I know of several that have been running around on street cars for years and they have never had a problem.
