Are you guys really using the truck pan? what'd you do, give your car a lift kit? I tired the truck pan out first since I had it with the lift out and I heard it would work. me and a friend together could literally bounce the front of the car and make the pan touch the ground.

Philip, are you using a swap kit, or fabricating mounts etc? My 415 needs to come out soon after only 250 miles because my builder was an idiot. I'm thinking about putting it in my vette and doing an LS1/6speed swap to the Cutlass. I'm curious to hear someones success/failures with a kit, what additional work/headaches were involved etc. I'm not up for another long build, so if it's a swap I can do in a few weeks without surprises I may do it.

Also if you are keeping power steering you will most likely need a smaller power steering pulley as well. I used one off of a 92 2.8L s10. not a whole lot smaller but enough to do the trick.

I probably won't be able to use the truck pan because it is too deep as mentioned.

Currently, I plan on using TransDapt LS1 motor mount plates (about $50). They are identical to S&P's adapter plates. I just got the motor today, so I'm hoping to do a test fit this weekend, but I need to do some cleaning and detail work first. Plus, the motor will need some cleanup, it was a little dirtier than I was hoping for.

Landon (406rollerbu) used the TransDapt apdapter plate in his 6.0 swap. Here is a picture using the TransDapt adapters with stock clamshells and frame mounts:

Landon used a Moroso pan, and it does not hang below the crossmember:

Here is a pictures of 455_82malibu's swap using the truck pan and S10 motor mounts, and you're right it does hang low!!:

I'm not sure how the S10 mounts affects how low the oilpan hangs. Like I said, I will do some test fitting soon. Anyways, I'm documenting everything in my Father/Son project thread, located here:

Stayed tuned there for the latest.

The trans dapt adapters are what I used too. I used them with the moroso solid mounts.
