V8power, with the E Tec heads, is it highly recommended I run the Air Gap Performer RPM intake? Reason I ask is because that intake setup will kill my mileage and I'd like to stick to more of a basic street/daily driver intake setup like the plain Performer or Holley Street Avenger I believe it's called.
attngtr, I was almost set on those heads you have until I hear that it's a miss and hit with them and some people have had very bad luck with them. I cannot afford to have a problem with this engine so I am not 100% set on those heads anymore. As for your signature, I see you have a 64 Chevy II wagon. Are you on stevesnovasite.com? I have a 63 Chevy II wagon as well.

I got brodix track 1's for $900. The springs are meant for a high lift cam but you could take those and the titanium retainers and sell them and probably make some money back.

you dont need to run the air gap. but i did with a holly 750 dp, and i probably got 14mpg just crusing. but any vortec style intake manifold will do just fine.

I got my heads from whites performance they are on ebay. They take bare heads and use their own parts and build them in house. I think that is key. I really like them but they are more of a street head. Yes I am on stevesnovasite under the same name. Heres a link to other fellow members and I. http://www.stevesnovasite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=135727&page=3 All I will say is I am the tallest one. Also a couple links pics of my car http://www.einova.org/2010%20HNR.htm and http://www.carnut.com/cgi-bin/10/image.pl?/show/10/ggdes/des314.jpg It's the 64 fawn colored Nova Wagon.

Very nice car! I just purchased the HEI distributor unit from Skip White Performance and it is great for the price. Aren't the heads 200cc and not 180cc though? I will have to do more of my homework and see what I can find.

I have the 215cc ones. I heard anything smaller do not flow well. I used them on a flattop 355 with wieand air strike intake. It ran really good.
