Help with Gas gauge

My 78 Malibu's gas gauge won't come past the full mark, the pink wire has power, and I have it grounded, fuses are good. I recently changed the tank and new sending unit. If I unhook the pink wire it will read 1/2 tank, any help would be great. Thanks Mike

If you checked the ground, you can check the sender too. It is supposed to be 0-90 ohms. )ohms empty, 90 full. You would have to drop the tank and yank the sender to move the arm around and check it. The sometimes the connection for the gauge housing isn't the best, and the gas gauge among other gauges, wouldn't read correctly.
