i have a 81 malibu and right now its not streetable. it wont be daily drivin but if i want to i can. i was wanting to know wut parts i need in order to build the motor to between 400 - 450hp and spray 75-100 off the line and another 175-200 goin down tha track and not hurt tha motor. ima run a 2 stage kit but i want to be able to adjust the timing and be able to drive the car around town or even take it on trips or sumthing. all info will be greatly appreciated if anyone has a setup similar i would love to know wut u have in the engine. thanx a bunch. here is the details. stock oe rear built i think its a 7.5 either 3.73's or 4.10's th350 built and all suspension mods done. i know probably all forged bottom end but like wut about heads. is there any special retainers or seals? and is there any special degree to make the cam? wut type of lobe sep? is there any special gap that the rings have to have or is there nitrous rings? new to nitrous completely but have all the details except wut works 4 the motor thanx!!!
.. i assume you r building sbc.. id go with a 355 stock gm steel crank set of CAT h beams set of forged flat tops or dished pistons so u can go with pump gas for driving it.. as for heads any decent head will work 64 cc or up depends on your pistons dart world products anything id go with a solid lift cam about 550-570 lift area
110-112 lobe sep with enough durations etc to get u a rpm range of 3500-7500 then get a 3500 converter victor jr intake 750 to 950 carb with 3.73-410 gear with a tall tire a good combo like that will get u in o the low 8,s to mid 7,s in the 1/8th on motor... then dependin on how hard u spray it itll go in the 6,s easily ive built plenty of theese combos over the years .. with great sucess and the parts are everywhere.. if u need any more details pm me im just a hour from u up north..

no offense but i wouldnt use cat rods in anything i would rather use stock rods than those but if you decide to use them make sure and check both big and small ends also have them balanced
used cat rods in a 355 spinnin 7500 for 2 years sprayed it a total 450 went 6.00s on a single 250 shot..
then ran a 406 with cat rods and a scat cast crank spinnin 8500-9000 rpm sprayed it total of 500-800 hp for 2 years bearings where like brand new in them no problems what so ever out of the cat rods.. the box my cat rods came from where same address as eagles i ordered a set of i beams from years before..
