If you use the later model wiper delay that has the switch found on the turn signal stalk, you can just take the switch and the wiper motor from the doner car. You will have to wring the wires out cause the colors change from the non-dalay to the delay. You will also have to add a wire from the column mounter wiper switch, out through the firewall and to the delay wiper motor. Not a bad swap. I converted my 79 wagon to an 86 GP wiper delay. Just be aware you are going to have to remove the steering wheel, drop the column down from the dash, and get access to the back of the fuse box.
why not just swap the whole cloumn? i've been thinking about this also as i going to be installing an od trans and would like to use the old column out of my mcss, it's a column shift and want to keep the bench in my bu.
you could but you still need to change the wiring in the car, by adding another wire for the delay circuit. You will also need the wiper motor from the donor car too..
