I am looking to putting double adjustable contol arms on my elcamino and i am wanting to go with double adjustable uppers and lowers. The question that i am wanting to know about is how to set the right Geometry for this. I have a QP 9in rear end and i have never do it before. I just want to do it right the first time so if any one can help. thanks

Hello
Depending on the manufacture you go with for your upper and lower control arms. They may already be preset to factory specs like we do UMI Performance. But seeing how you are running a aftermarket rear they are going to be really nice and allow you to center the rear up in the wheel well. And how you will do that is get a measurement from your fend to either the lip of the wheel or center cap. And as-long as you have the same measurements and no clearance issues (with slicks or DR) you will be fine. And the set your pinion angle around that. Below is a link to show you what all UMI Performance has to offer.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
Thanks

To answer your question a little more clearly:

1st - Center your wheels in the wheel wells using the lower control arms as best as possible. Measure from front of rim to a good known location on the frame that is the same side to side, we use the frame weld which is usually about 15" in front of the tires. Make this measurement the same, this will make sure the rear is pointing STRAIGHT.

2nd - Adjust the rear side to side to center it in the body using the upper control arms. If the rear needs to go to the drivers side either lengthen the passenger upper or shorten the drivers upper.

3rd - Adjust BOTH uppers EQUALLY to set pinion angle.

Apply and repeat!

Hope this helps, if you have any questions on this feel free to ask.
Mike

Ok well thanks for the info. So you don't have to put an degree finder on the rear end you just need to make sure that eveything is square.

Hello
Yes you will need the angle finder to adjust your pinion angle. But you will need to get the adjustments you need first. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
Thanks
