I'm pretty sure no matter what you do they'll stick out a considerable amount if they don't rub the frame. You'll need a good notch and a rolled lip and it might still be close depending on car height.

315 radials like M/T's? there HUGE 30x13" you will need a HUGE frame notch, mini-tubbed and cut fender lips

Yep, you're looking at taking this one all the way into the very back wall of the frame when notching. Take a look at the frame notches in the tech section, one of them there fits a pretty huge tire by taking it all the way to the inner skin, that should give you an idea.

I have the 325's on my Monte. You can't get a tire that big on without a deep frame notch. I'm running a 15x10 wheel with a 5.5" backspace and they just barely fit.

I'm not sure the 315's would fit very well, they are alot taller. you would run into more problems. I think I'd stick to a 295 or a 325.

I have 4.5" backspacing on my stock rearend and the rim is maybe an inch or so away from the frame. I have plenty of room to go out towards the fender lip though. I have a 78. All that I can fit into the rear with the 4.5" backspacing is 255/60/15's. I would love to fit at least 275's. Good luck, but I think your wasteing your money going with any more backspacing than that. I tried to sit one of my buddies wheels off of his 95 Z-28, and it wouldn't come close to mounting to the studs! I think they're 16X9 with 6 or 6.5" backspacing.

i'm going to be putting on 325/50 MT's. i have a DEEP frame notch, rolled fender lip, 7/16" narrower rear, 15x10 with 5"bs and its TIGHT! 315's will need to have the inner fenders cut out and possibly move the frame in 315's are 30x13.5"

I don't know if the 315 would fit under the car or not. The problem I have is M/T rated tire size specs are out of whack. I've had both 295/65's and 325/50's on a 9.5" rim. They both have a measured section width of 13" on my rim. The 295 has 10.5" of tread where the 325 is right around 11 3/4". I don't remember measuring the 295's height, but the 325 measures are 27.5" or less...buggers are short!

M/T's rated specs are as follows:

325/50 28" tall, 13" section, 11" of tread

295/65 30" tall, 12.4" section, 10" tread

215/60 30" tall, 13.4" section, 11" of tread

I you notice, my 326 & 295 tire, neither matched the M/T rated specs in one dimension or another.

Now, I have a frame notch 1" deep...pretty conservative. My 295's sit well under the fender lip...I've seem Malibu's with the tires much further out...Phil's 28 x 12.50 ET Streets and Mitch's car as well as Pauls all come to mind. I can't get my finger in between the tire and frame...likely about 3/8" clearance, but has NEVER rubbed the frame. IF I spaced the rim out a tad AND IF M/T's 13.4" of section width were correct for the 315's, I'd bet I could get them to fit. Mind you they would be very tight, but they could fit. But I'm betting mounted up the 315 section width is wider than 13.4", plus given their size, I'd think they would work better on a 12" rim than a 10".
