i think my clutch is goin out UGHH!

i left home to get something to eat and im noticing that when i go to shift gears i had to press my clutch all the way to the floor and it still was hard to shift gears.. so i get to the parking garage @ my place and i cudnt get the car in 1st gear took about a min or so once i pulled into the parking spot i cud not get it to go into reverse even with the clutch pedal pressed all the way to the floor.. soi pushed it backwards CAN ANYONE HELP ME!!!

Can you shift the shifter when the car is off?


Check that your linkage is not getting hung up.

Then check to see if you clutch fork is bent.

Also to see if the clutch is bad push the clutch all the way in, put the car in 1st gear, step on the brake then slowly let up on the clutch.

If the car stalls out the clutch should be ok.

If it keeps running your clutch is done.

My first guess is that the lower arm of the bellcrank is peeling away from the shaft. It will need to be put back in its proper location and then a brace welded to the tension side of the arm to prevent it from peeling again.

I have seen this happen several times (even to me while driving). The factory welds have hardly any penetration.

car shifts while its off.. ill chk the other things in a few thanks guys!

i took the car to my buddy shop and they pulled the trans.. we looked at the z bar and yes it had peeled so they are gonna weld a bracket to it...
