Ladder Bar 9" Width Q's?

I bought a Malibu, it's a ladder bar car.

The car has been clearanced at the rear of the frame where a tire may contact the frame if you're using a real tall hoop.

The diff has been removed from the car, and didn't come with the car. Anyone have an idea of a width to start with for another 9" diff? And what backspacing wheel I may have to run with it?

I'd like to run a 15x10 rim, and not have the wheel stick out like a 4x4 off road truck. However, I really don't want to modify or thin up the frame anymore, or mini-tub the car, so I'm willing to compromise. A similar appearance as below would be ideal.

check in the for sale section. there was a 9" housing and axle deal (moser 35 spline, if i remember correctly) that was from a monte carlo and it comes with ladder bars. maybe it would fit right in? just need a center.
