My son and I are building a budget bracket car. The car is a 81 wagon. It is equipped with a th350 lock-up transmission. I know this is not the best choice for bracket racing but the transmission is good and due to funds it is the transmission we will have to run at least this first season. I have a couple of questions for anyone who has raced one.
1. there are a couple of manufacturers who make converters with a decent advertised stall, has anyone had any experience with any of them?
2. Should we run the transmission with it unplugged from the harness?
3. Any suggestions to make it work for one season?

1. 350C Converters, no experience.
2. Yes, you can unplug harness.
3. Install a TransGo Shift Kit.
You can convert it to use the TH350 converter. Input shaft/swap , Pump swap & Valve Body Mods.
TH350C converter is heavier because of the TCC/torqueConverterClutch & size. 350C is just as strong as Non-Lockup 350.
Good luck & have fun with it,
Todd
