Ok,I know too run the positive up front ...but does there have too be a smaller gauge wire ran as well for the alternator too the battery like under the hood?

i was told to run a wire from front to back for the alternator. i used 4 guage due to the length of it. if you're running a battery switch in the back (which i think you'll need to for tech at the track), be sure to connect the alt. wire to the battery so that the alternator doesn't keep the car running when the switch is off.
i should mention that i have the stock wiring setup and not a one wire alternator. not sure if that changes how things need to be wired or not.
Also, make sure your battery is fastened to the frame, and not just the thin trunk floor sheet metal.
