Need to know what block to start with?

Looking to build a stroked 454(496/505) , not too educated with the big
blocks. What would be the best OEM block to use to build from? I found this
motor locally --- 14015446 Any good??

it is gonna be either one of these:
14015443...454.......87-90...2 or 4-bolt, Mark IV, Truck, Motorhome
14015445...454.......78-90...2 or 4 bolt

You could always use a marine block to. My friend is running a 468 with an 8-71 blower on top of a used saltwater marine 454 and he hasnt had a problem.

best thing to do is ask your machinist . thay usely have blocks laying around .
