No really updates lately. Returned the brand new intrepid fans I bought and got a set from a junk yard that saved me $100. Ordered a relay, plug, and some fuses and finally got them delivered. I’m going to order the upper shroud tonight or tomorrow and hopefully start wiring Monday.
The junkyard fans were a perfect fit for the radiator. Returned the brand new fans and picked up the upper radiator bracket from jegs instead of mikesmontes so I’d have it same day with the cash I had after returning the fans. I made 3 brackets to support the fan, luckily the 2 big ones are at the bottom out of sight because I just took some scrap I had laying around and bent it all up in a vice. Drilled some holes and screwed them all together. I popped the rubbers out of the original upper shroud and put it all in place. The jegs bracket is stainless so I’m curious to see how it looks after peeling the white adhesive off the top. I also went on ahead and stuck the original temp sensor in the intake really quick for the gauge in the dash.

As of right now all I have is the rubber supports at all 4 corners of the radiator. I’m pretty sure doing some gbody reading recently I saw where you can buy brand new ones so I’m probably going to order some if I can find the link again. Everything’s pretty secure/tight wiggling it pretty hard by hand but I’ll throw some new rubber in just to be sure. The shroud is awfully close as it sits right now.
I got my radiator cushions from Dixie Restoration Depot. All 4 are the same and they came in sets of 2.
Nothing major going on. Radiator supports are all in. I’m waiting on a module and harness for my fans and the sensor that screws into the head to arrive. New alternator is on. I was cleaning the firewall up and wiping off a bunch of old dirt/dust and noticed a couple of rockers were riding way off center of the valves so I read the instructions for the afr heads again and chatted with my brother. I ended up loosening 8 rockers and adjusting the adjustable guide plates that I’ve never messed with before then torqued the studs back down and adjusted them again. I’m getting anxious now
Took my factory speedometer cable out and ordered a 100 inch long one that we’ll reach the passenger side of the super t10 compared to the original saginaw. Anyone know of a good way to determine which plastic speedo gear I need so that it’s pretty accurate with the 3.89’s and 26 inch tire? Thanks
