Okay I checked my wires and I m getting power to the dizzy power on and while cranking. I keep checking my fuel pump and no fuel. I just poured a whole gallon of gas in the tank. No fuel getting throught the mech f.p.. to the carb. What could be the problem? Even when I pour a little gas in the carb. Still nothing. Everything is turning. Crank, cam and all. Im going crazy trying to figure out. What about loosening the rocker arms a little. Would that help?

No dont loosen the rocker arms! did you make sure the fuel pump rod didn't fall back down when you put the pump on? You will have to turn the dizzy to the left or right to get it to fire up. did it even sound like it wanted to catch or backfire?

I tried advancing and retarding the dizzy. No it doesnt even sound like it wants to catch. As far as the fuel pump rod falling back under the mech. f.p. arm.I think so. its oil on the arm. I cant really tell because I push the rod in with the f p arm. I may just go to a eloectric f.p. and say screw it all.

Crank the engine and take the discharge line off the fuel pump, see if anything comes out, then check see if fuel is coming from the tank, if there's nothing coming from the tank it could be blocked, there was a topic recently on how to check the line from the tank.

You're probably firing on the wrong cylinders, your cam is 180 degrees out more than likely. As for fuel, just see what this does first. I'd double check the cam and just pour fuel down the carb.

I took off the mechanical fuel pump. I held my finger on the fuel pump push rod while turning the crank. The rod doesnt even move a little. Im guessing this cam doesnt have a fuel pump push rod lobe. Thats bs. Im going electric.

Chill out Frank. Take your time you will get it. One step at a time. No back fire or cough after pouring gas down the carb? I know you said you have power at the dist., but did you have spark at the wire using the screwdriver or a spark plug stuck in the boot held against a ground. ie: the block, header etc. After you have spark then move onto the fuel.

Yes I had spark using the screwdriver. Its just a fuel problem I guess.
