After putting in a new cam. I got the timing right and everything. Im getting no fuel from the fuel pump. I got all new wires, cap and rotor. No spark I guess. No fuel.

Take a plug wire off stick a screwdriver in it and rest it against something metal have a buddy check to see if there is spark while you turn it over. Try dumping some gas down the carb. Make sure all your dizzy wires are plugged in. are you using msd or anything like that?

I checked everything. Wires in right spots. Rotor in correct. I dont know how to check if I have power going to the dizzy. What is the device called where I can check currents in my wires?

just a test light, just looks like a screwdriver but with a point. hook it to the positive on the battery and poke you power wire to see if the test light lights up. key will have to be on.
So if it doesnt light up when my power is on, what will i have to replace then. You just dont understand how much this is bugging me. I have to move my car so I can finish some upgrades like "yesterday". Im way overdue. guy on another forum spoke about the wrong camshaft since Im not getting any fuel. How is that possible?Its a479/469 lift cam. How could that play a role in anything?
You dont have to worry about having the wrong cam, its hard for the pump to get gas from the tank to the carb just by turning it over. If there is no power check to make sure your grounds are hooked up and power wire is hooked up the battery.gbodyera said:
Did you try taking one of the wires off and either use a screwdriver or another plug and rest it against the header or something metal to see if it sparks when you turn it over? Is it HEI? If it does spark pour some gas down the carb to prime it, that will get gas up the carb quicker
So I just take off a wire and put a screwdriver in the tip and rest the other end of it on the header or something metal?
