There not just a throw in item can't believe someone else didn't mention that.
Studs usually require a line hone maybe the
only time you can get away with not doing it is with a Dart block with steel caps. They come stock with arp bolts When switching to studs the blocks stronger caps must not distort at all if any from the clamping difference.

I've switched to studs before just to see how the mesurment would change. It got tight loss of half the correct clearance. No way the crank would have even turned if it had been installed. #-o

I have a friend who I race with from time to time who is always cutting corners. You could definatly see it after year of racing it ran but the bores were egg shaped you could see it in the bearing. He says it works a little tight on the start up. It ill wear in :-k


Just like rod bolts or head studs if you going run them they should be installed when final machining is being done distortion is distortion Ever get a chance to hone a 400 block little things mean allot more than you think. Deck plugs on a 400 line honing a block with an oil pump torqued to the rear cap.
As to the part pro comp? try to buy American if you can afford it
