Putting battrie in trunk

Does anyone have a wiring diagram or the basic wiring to move the battrie to the trunk. I think i have it correct in mymind just want to check. Here is what i am thinking.

1) mount battrie in trunk
2) Run a ground wire from motor to frame inside engine compartment
3) Run munber 4 wire from starter hot to trunk hook to POS
4) run number 4 wire from ground at trunk to Neg.

Am i in the ball park doing it this way? Thanks in advance for any help

you need to run a ground from the battery to the engine not the chassis as they do not do a good job at grounding an engine

you should also run a wire from your alternator to the battery, instead of the starter.

Mine...
2 gauge from battery + to Pos+ post on starter.
2 gauge from battery Neg - to clean bolt through frame or welded to frame.
2- 2 inch wide heavy taylor braided ground straps. one on each side of engine to frame.
1 1/2 wide ground strap from back of block to firewall.

2- 10-12 gauge ground wires. one from each side of frame rail to core support.

Overkill.... Probally..

But not a miss in starting in 3 years.

running multiple grounds is not a bad idea either,i have like 4 on my LS1 stroker.

NAhhh !! That is B.S !! Hooked up a good ground to the frame form battery at back and in front,from frame to engine . Has been working fine for 2 years ! Without any problem ! Only thing is to run a very good quallity wire for a ground !

I ran 3/0 welding cable (overkill) from my battery to a distribution block behind the glove box. Grounded the battery to the frame in the rear of the car. One #2 awg ground from the alternator bracket to the frame. One braided ground cable from the head to the body. One #2 awg from a distribution block behind the glove box to the frame. I am a electrician for 25 years, can't have enough grounds, especially on DC. And if you are going to the track, I found out Sunday, you need to have a ground wire from the metal ring on the fuel cell to a grounding point.
