I'm looking to get some pics of 8pt (or any) cages in malibus. If you have some pics of one in a 4dr or wagon that would be great too. My plan is to get an S&W kit and fit it as best as it can be.

I did a search but couldnt find any posts after dec or so.

They look good. Question...your rear down bars go to a crossmember in the back or bars coming off the rear frame rails correct?

Does the S&W kit go to the top of the spring perches/shock mounts?

Supe did you do all yours and weld it too?
Nope, that was done 5 years ago or so, before I had gotten into welding and chassies. You better believe I'll be doing all the work on the next G Body that comes my way, and I've got a few tricks up my sleeve when the time comes...

Pics look great guys. Keep em coming.

My plan is to pull the front clip and jack up the body. Need to fix body mounts and any other rot/rust under there. Then paint the underside and frame. Also going to do a frame notch, probably to the seem. Gonna brace the frame inbetween the rails over the axle, another brace at the backside near the bumper, and finally weld in supports for the LCA mounts. I got the whole summer to do it, taking my time. Not in a huge rush, getting pumped up about it tho.

Time to grab some ERW tubing and practice some.

Has any one welded to the sheet metal insted of the frame?
Not NHRA legal, not does it have any strength. The floor pans have no strangth where as a unibody car has strong rocker boxes which are essentially the frame rails. Body on frame cars have less strenght in such areas.

Ok dumb question, but does any body have any pictures of a six or an eight point installed in a el camino? I was wondering if I could run the rear bars under my rear window?

They have to go through the window, or it's not NHRA legal.

this is just for a local track not nhra. I would go through the window but the curved back glass would be very hard to plexie.
