i have a small block 400 +60 over with a 400 crank and i dont know what size rodes i need and how to know if the pistons will work with the rodes i get?

measure compression height of piston and add stroke and subtract from deck height

I'd assume you're going to use either a 6" or 5.7" rod. Depending on what compression you're after, you'll need a piston for a 4.185 bore for use with one of those two rod lengths. Summit Racing.com has a great website for looking up what you'll need or you can always call 'em.

I am running 6" H-beam rods in my 406 with 10.5 compression.
