I have a 1999 SBC 5.7 Vortec engine that I will be doing a carb setup on and need to know will a Comp Cams timing chain(part#2100)work with this Vortec engine or will i need a double roller timing set for the Vortec engine,this will be a NO computer engine.THANKS

You need a chain for the roller cam if you plan to use the factory front cam retainer. The big gear is thinner to allow for the extra plate. Also, you will need an older metal timing cover to run a double chain. I'm fairly certain it won't fit under the plastic cover. With it being a 99, it is prob missing 2 bolt holes in the block and it wont have dowl pins either.
