now lets really talk about just how good hyperuetectic pistons are... my example is simple, and verifiable.
stock 99 chevy suburban bottom end with 993 cast heads and vic jr intake, stock hyd roller cam, stock 70s hei and homemade turbo kit. 16 psi every day ,pumpgas, driven to work all year round, it lived for a year and a half before i broke it. i run it up to 7200 rpm and pulled the wristpin saddles right off of the number 3 cylinder.
i truly feel that timing, air fuel ratio, and rpm dictate life far better than quality of parts. granted, you will never regret buying the best, but if you cant afford the best, you can get by for along time as long as you use your noodle

and imo any stock bottom end sbc should safely handle a 150 shot repeatedly. as long as everything else is up to par.

good luck with your decision.
