I just scored a grandma fresh '79 wagon. It's got 14" wheels with stock hub caps. They are stainless steel with a center piece that has a red background with the yellow/tan bowtie. The caps are missing the bowtie center decals on two caps. Where can I find these decals or centers? The caps are undented, and I'd like to keep the stock look of the car on the exterior. Any help is appreciated.

Surfwagon,
Welcome aboard!
Man I threw out a set of those hubcaps...I can't tell you how many years ago.
I don't think the center emblem is still available, but perhaps someone will toss you an old hubcap with a good emblem that you could extract.

Personally, I would lose 'em and even put a set of dog dish caps on it...or even a set of 15" rallyes.
Why would you even want to keep the 14's on it ? At least put a set of 15's on it. The 14" wheels and tires lool like donuts compared to even a moderate sized 15".
Post some pics of your wagon when you get a chance. BTW, where you from?
Jack ;)

hub caps

I'm from Pearland, Texas. A suburb outside of Houston. The car is just so original I don't want to stray too far from the stock appearance. This is going to be a driver. I'm going to do the G-machine look with a lowered stance, big sway bars, big brakes, and I'll probably be forced to upgrade wheels when I do the brakes. For now I'd just like to keep the original appearance because the car is so untouched. Interior and paint are my priorities at this point. I'll post up some pics when I get some digitals snapped. I really need to photo this car because I'm sure it will look much different when I'm done with the paint/suspension/wheels/tires. Currently it's a dark maroon with red interior. I'm thinking Fire Engine red. That's weird, because I never have liked red cars, but this one has a red interior, so I'm going to work with it. Like I said I want to drive this car and I think it would be easier to keep the inside red, do the carpet one weekend, a seat the next, the dash another weekend. This way it's always red inside and I'm not stuck with a multi-colored interior before I'm done with the car. Of course it's a hobby car so it will never be done, there will always be room for an upgrade or improvement here or there.

It sounds like a nice score. It's always nice to find an original vehicle that was unmolested and unabused.
As far as the red interior, that's what's in mine now...well actually a combination of red and burgundy. Eventually, it will be all burgundy, or maroon/ claret (oxblood).
I could somehow understand keeping the stock appearance. But even bone stock cars look good with a set of wheels.
Once you start doing the suspension mods, the car will take on a whole new personality. Good luck with...and once again, welcome to the site..
By all means, take some pics and post 'em.
Jack ;)

16" rallys with the police center caps. It'll have the stock look but you can have the big brakes and good tires.

I like that look....and the wheels won't bankrupt you.
