th 400 problems

I cant get the trans linkage to work right in my 78 grand prix when i got the car ther was no engine or trans i think the original trans was a 200 anybody else have this problem? Do i need a new linkage or say the hell with it and put in a ratchet shifter what works good for a street car? Thanks guys! ](*,)

Put a ratchet shifter in it and be done with it!!

make sure you have the right shifting cable for the car and the right transmission braket.If not it will be a up hill battle.

Thanks for the input guys i found a star shifter in the garage i think i will use for now i am off to the wrecking yard tommorow to find bucket seats #-o
