Anyone know what size slick can be tucked in the rear by simply narrowing the rearend without a minitub job?

I have a 28X12.50 ET Street on 15X10's with 5.5 backspace. The rear is a half inch wider than stock and my tubs are intact, but the frame is notched. Lip is rolled and tubs have been massaged with a big f'n hammer. They still rub from time to time. I should have mini tubbed it.

You do not need to narrow the rear end to put bigger tires under it. You just need the correct offset wheel. a 275-60-15 can be made to fit on these cars very easily.

Agreed. I assumed by his post he wanted to know what the absolute limit is without doing a mini tub.
