this is the difference between a v6 and a 47130 212lb trick spring..

Chris K.

i took one of the stock 6 cyl springs out of my car last night and put it next to the new trick spring i got. it's only about 1" taller than my stock springs and has 2 more coils in it. as mentioned, i have #47205, which IIRC, are for front end weights in the 1660-1720lbs range vs the ones shown here, which are for 1600-1660lbs. i hope this works out!! let me tell ya...it wasn't much fun getting the old one out, so i can imagine how fun getting the new one in will be!

I do it the same way as DFW also. I just used the spring compressor and then slap it in and use my jack to install the lower arms and release and done. I think it took me longer to disassemble th control arms as it did to install.

I used a strut compressor and wrapped mech. wire around the spring in 4 areas. Once they were in the car I cut the wire and pukked it out. You still have to go very very slooooow. ;) But it works great!

Securing a chain from the spring to the chassis may seem like over kill, but if that spring decides to let loose you will not know what happened until it's far too late. Take your time. It's playing with fire.

FINALLY got them in!! wasn't all that bad. i'm SO glad i didn't get the lightest version of trick spring for my car. the front end dropped at least 1.5-2" as soon as i put the car down on the ground. i hope it doesn't settle too much more than that! guess i'm doing rear springs too now.

the car that I installed the springs in was already lowered so I don't have a good reference...
