figure i would ask this question i want to change my wheel studs in the rear to 3" which i believe would require removing the c-clips and sliding the axles out just wanted to confirm so i know what i am in for thanks

i changed mine without taking the axles out or c clips so im going to say no removal had to take the shoes off though to get the other ons in then taped them in with a crowbar and hammer resting bar against the backing plat or put shoes back on once they are all in place and use the shoe to pry against so you dont bend backing plat

with that long of a stud i'd think you would have to. The shoes are only 2.5" wide I think so the axle flange is about that close.

maybe i can got to a 2.5" stud i dont really need 3" but i have to research what a G/N fact stud length is determining factor only thing i know is 12mm x 1.5 thread . given the choice od removing brake shoes or pulling axles . would go with axles think it would be easier not that the brakes are hard . thanks
