MY son had a small mishap Sunday afternoon. It seems like we had a couple of wires ground out, and ignite a little bit of fuel that was on the intake(I guess). Anyway. caused a small flash fire that went out on its own, but got hot enought to melt the inline fuel filter by the carb. I still cannot figure out how the car did not burn down. The entire under hood are was covered in fuel when teh filter started to spew. I just dont get it, but all it did was metl a few wires, and blister the paint on the hood. Anyway, I am looking for a complete harness for the car. I have never wired a complete care, but am hoping to find one of the complete harnesses that are prety well layed out for you. Does any body have any suggestions on who to go through to get the harness? I am buying him another vehicle, and going to start a complete rebuild of the car, so I want to do it right. I can fix the damage I have now pretty easy, and get the car on the road again, but when I tear it down, it is all getting replaced. Any suggestions?

If you get the engine side of the harness from a donor car of similar year... i.e. post-'81 or pre-'81 (I'm not sure what year they started with computer controls), you should have no troubles swapping a replacement in. They are separate from the harness to the interior, held in place by a bolt where it goes through the firewall just under the brake booster. If it damaged the wiring for heat/A/C you may have to get one of those harnesses as well.
