You don't happen to know what the distance is from your bellhousing (block face) to your shifter do you? or from transmission face of the bellhousing to the shifter?
Just wondering...
Anyone have any advice or pictures of where their shifter ended up with a TKO transmission installed with bench seats?
I'm 5'5'' and need my seat almost all the way forward when I drive. I wanted to make sure wherever I end up putting the shifter on the transmission, that it won't interfere...
it could probably work just fine if I don't even worry about the steel hump and just mount a plastic one to the floor. It won't be under much stress with just the boot moving around. This might be the option I take.
I just figured that it would need to be every bit as accurate as the pinion angle... Vertical as well as horizontal...
The solid mounts look like a good idea, and for 24 bucks, unless someone knows of some even cheaper...
That's true, I could just measure from each frame rail and just put it...
How do I go about centering the transmission if I was to fab up a new corssmember so that the transmission is centered with the rear end and the driveshaft?
ya, I've seen them on factory setups... I was wondering if anyone made one specifically as a weld in replacement... say if one would want to do a manual swap from an automatic...
So it just sits on top of the carpet and attaches to the floor?
Could this be used the same as the metal one and just have the carpet cover it with the trim ring and boot on top of the carpet to keep it clean? Or is this specifically used like a factory one on top of the carpet? I've never...
I am trying to find someone who makes new transmission tunnel humps for manual transmissions for g-bodies...
I found this one at the El Camino Store...
http://www.elcaminostore.com/product.asp?pf%5Fid=01%2D4015&dept%5Fid=7031
It is plastic and am not sure it is exactly what I am looking for...
ok, so no icemember made for the TKO. Since I would still have to modify whichever one I buy, I might still get it since it is the simplest and cheapest I've seen.
Did you get that offset shifter from Keisler?
oh and another thing...
Meat Drapes:
You have a big block right? Did this affect how far back the transmission sat in the tunnel? I always assumed that when swapping BBC and SBC that it would never entail having anything to do with moving the transmission. This is all relative to where the...
He says any transmission on his site, I fihured that included the TKO-600, I guess I should double check... I sent him an e-mail. I hope he does offer one, his design is just too simple and cheap not to look into.
Thanks a lot... I'm not really into the whole center console look, and I really thought your installation was the cleanest looking one I've seen.
What did you do for the shifter handle and shifter boot? where did you get them? Did you go with the forward relocation shifter that mounts the...
I was just reaching out to anyone who has an opinion or has seen both the summit 2" drop spindles and th eBelltech drop spindles. Are they different? What would the difference be? And would the difference be worth the extra $75. If it makes a big enough difference, I would be willing to spend...
it looks as though all your pictures have gone somewhere else to hang out... could you put up some pictures of the interior with the shifter installed? I have a bench seat and I believe you do as well and I wanted to look into where you had your shifter located on the transmission and the...
wow, I never even thought about the air switching sides... that would almost exaggerate whatever body roll is already present... good call...
Ya, traction will come in time... the money isn't even beginning to being focused on the suspension. It's just a toy for now. I only put air shocks on...
it may be close to 3/8"... and yes, they are 15 x 8" rims. not sure about the backspacing, they're just your off the shelf Outlaw II.
I am yet to check the rear bushings... they may be giving out. I have air adjust shocks in the rear that I run usually all the way up, so I imagine that has a...
