    Mild cam for stock engine

Alright guys thanks for the words of wisdom. We are gonna make an attempt at figuring out the misterious noise coming from the 355 before pulling it out. Tomorrow I'll change the oil because it seemed thin when we pulled the dipstick out. As well as white smoke at start up. If it's something...

    Good streetable 8.5 posi unit

Well I'm not really sure what kind of unit it is. The car will be street driven with a chance of very light track use. But if it's a turd then I don't want to risk any damage to well, anything. I took some pictures as well as one with the part number though. I haven't been able to track the...

    Mild cam for stock engine

Hey all, picked up a knocking noise in the 355 that was in my Malibu and for the rest of the year, we are gonna put the engine that we took out of the car back in. The engine is a GM Goodwrench crate replacement, 8.5:1 CR, Edelbrock Performer Air Gap, 670 Holley Street Avenger carb, 1-5/8 Hooker...

    Good streetable 8.5 posi unit

Will the newer differential fit in the housing no problems? I have the bearings and everything for the new one. I might as well replace the seals in the rear as long as I'm getting new axles. I'd probably be looking for some axles like these? #-o http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MSR-A103004/

    Good streetable 8.5 posi unit

Yeah it's for my car, it was out of a 442 so it should fit like a glove.

Hopefully that grounded down ps pump bolt comes out easy if ever needed to be removed.

    Good streetable 8.5 posi unit

Hey all just picked up a 8.5 rear end today. Bought it knowing it wasn't posi, because I have one in the garage. Problem is, it's out of a newer style GM truck with 30 spline axles and the battle is between trying to get axles for a 30 spline, or buying a new 28 spline posi unit. I'm pretty...

    Couple of trans questions

Cool guys thanks for the input. I just got done doing the dipstuck tube seal and it was such a pain in the *ss with the trans in the car without taking off the x-member but I think it's good to go. I wiped a bunch of RTV sealer on the outside of the seal to seal the boot to the trans, and also...

    Couple of trans questions

I just got done replacing the pan gasket and filter, and the trans still leaks. It seems like more towards the front right side. Before fluid covered everything from the TC shield back to my trans x-member. If the car sits for 15-20 minutes no leaks, but it just starts leaking when I'm not...

1LE brake setup with ZQ8 wheels

Hey all, I think I saw a thread on here a while ago but I lost it and now I have a question about it. Is anyone on here running the second style ZQ8 S10 wheels with the 1LE brake setup? If so, what is needed? The tire size on the wheels is 245/50/16. Thanks for anyone's help.

    Tach signal wire question

Alright cool thanks for the response. I figured it would be okay since all the wires have insulation around them but I just wasn't sure.

    Iceman's lightweight crossmember

I love my Iceman crossmember. My dad wanted me to just get the Jegs one because it would be shipped quicker and it's a little cheaper but I'm glad I went with Rick's unit and I couldn't be any happier. Well, maybe I could be if it stopped my trans leak.

Autometer Phantom Gauge, Lokar Speedometer Cable

What part are you stuck on? I was having quite a challenge running the speedo cable to the cluster because I just cut the old cable and pulled at the firewall. I had to drop the column and put my skinny hand on there to fish it through the triangle hole.

    Tach signal wire question

Hey all, installing a Sun Pro (it will work for now) tach in my 79' Malibu. Right now I'm replacing the speedometer cable and thought well I might as well run the wires for the tach. Would it be a problem if I ran the tach signal wire (green) next to the speedometer cable through the firewall...
