    700R4 boost valve removal

I might be wrong about pressure, looking/feeling more like a 2-4 band issue. I'm considering trying to replace it, since 1st and 3rd gears are pretty solid as far as holding power.

    700R4 boost valve removal

A couple days ago I installed a .472" boost valve & Corvette servo, made a little bit of a difference at 50-70% throttle into 2nd, and helped quite a bit in 3rd and 4th too, but I still feel what seems to be a low pressure symptom - at very light throttle 2nd shift is very soft, and when I give...

But how much? I actually didn't think there was one available, but it doesn't surprise me someone designed one.

I always thought an '88-'98 GM truck handle fit fairly well. They're rectangular, similar to a boxy G-Body.

Clean :D I'm not a fan of shaved handles thanks to past personal experiences in the snow, but it still looks good dancin_banana.gif

Mmmm... tables? Does it reference any sort of body control module?

    98 F-body gauges question

Have you checked resistance of the sending unit at the tank and gauge?

    Transmission decisions

I vote 4L80, but they're a bit pricey compared to a 400... Most used ones around here are $600+, plus the cost of a controller. On the upside if you can burn chips you can control one with a factory GM computer and program it to shift where you want.

Cylinder heads for new build 383

Ditto... the Edelbrocks would be good for the street though, just about the right size, with less cam though (up to about 6500rpm operating range).

Will this cause to much cam lift ???'s

    1.6 is 1.5*1.0666... And 1.5 is the inverse (1.6/1.0666...).

Will this cause to much cam lift ???'s

.539" with 1.5 rockers would put it at .575" with 1.6, so I'm guessing it'll probably be ok. Finding 1.6 from 1.5 lift, multiply by 1.067... to get 1.5 from 1.6, divide by the same # (1.6 lift divided by 1.067).

I'm probably the only guy to dyno a 229...

Interesting to see... Only about 20hp less than the Fiero's rating (2.8 v6), given 15% power loss. I'd like to dyno it someday.

Yes, it's not holding up well to the 383 :P

    700R4 boost valve removal

Getting a good light source helps... I think I was looking from another angle last time, didn't see that casting flash. Knocked that flashing off and it dropped right out. Gotta make this trans last long as I can, probably going to double check other things I can without removing the valve...

    700R4 boost valve removal

I already tried that :( Hopefully I don't have a mess on my hands... tomorrow is my Friday, so I'll hopefully have some time to dinker with it in the next few days. I just wish I had a gauge to verify pressure, then I would've known whether or not to even mess with it. Given the engine, it...

    700R4 boost valve removal

Ok, I'll get under there next free day I have and give it a shot... I couldn't really tell if it was the body or case from the angle I was looking, plus there was trans fluid everywhere. I've also been looking into ways of cycling the old fluid out of the converter... Thinking I'll run a line...

I got the snap ring right out... feels like it's catching on the pump body or the case.

    700R4 boost valve removal

Does anyone have any tricks to removing the boost valve from a 700R4/4L60? It sounds like it's catching on the case, but I can't be 100% sure.
