    I bet throttle response off idle is nice and fuel economy is good :lol: I was a little surprised when I plugged 6000 max rpm and 350 ci into Holley's carb estimator and it only gave me 600cfm.

    My Edelbrock has been good, idle and cruise seem to be slightly rich, though it doesn't load up at all even sitting in stop & go traffic.

    You'll also need a Vortec intake with those heads... so that's another $100-$150 unless you get a real good deal on one. Don't believe the 'drilled for both intakes' bit, the Vortec intake port is different from a traditional SBC, and by the time the ports are matched you'll have hardly any...

    If you re-weld the top brackets on the frame you can use an 8.5 from a B-Body too, and those are dirt cheap compared to a G-Body 8.5 :D

    I have a 34mm and it seems to be fine, but I'm not sure if mine is binding or not, it sure is flat through the corners being lowered and also having a rear sway bar.

    So far mine has been fine with daily/spirited driving, though when I shift, 95% of the time I don't shock the driveline too much, just so I'm not buying new u-joints or worrying about the transmission. A T-10 would be a better choice, but if you're looking at highway miles and would like peace...

    quiet mufflers

    Resonance will probably increase, it almost always does, though it varies on application. The heat cycling of the mufflers/pipes tends to harden them so they don't do as well of a job. Every system I've had or had done always gets a little louder over time.

    Indeed. There was a buildup that's been in a few different magazines, "The 3/4 350", they gt about 300hp from it, then one of the magazines put a supercharger on it and got 500hp from it. If I had the time/funds I think I would've tried a turbo 4.3 in my Sierra instead of the 383.

    Be sure to stay on the small side with a carb... Holley has (or had) a cfm estimator on their site to give you a rough idea of what you'll need. I would probably stick with a cam that starts in the daily driver range (1,000-1,200 or so), otherwise it will probably be a little doggy.
