rear disc using weld-on/bolt-on caliper brackets ?'s

What about these? http://www.flynbye.com/catalog/i30.html They cost considerably more, but they're a bolt-on conversion for the 1LE (F-Body) rear disc brakes... supposedly... I just happened to come across the site. They also offer other caliper brackets (C4/C5/C6, and Z06 variants) to be used...

Tall Gears and the 4.3 V6?

I took some video with a little normal driving, and a couple hard launches/shifts today since it was warm :D Video may not be up yet, gotta edit it. http://maliburacing.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=78848

    BACKYARD EFI

Yeah, it'll cost close to what it does for a complete kit. I've decided I'm sticking with a carb right now, and when I put everything in the '78 I'll probably pick stuff up for EFI, since that's what I'll be plumbing it for (semi-frame-off, putting an EFI tank/sender/lines/etc. in).

Tall Gears and the 4.3 V6?

Alrighty, that's what mine came from ('78 or '79 v6 'Bu).

    Custom LED taillights...

This will probably wind up costing more overall than those bulbs  I've used the plug-in bulbs, but I'm not too thrilled with the light pattern they put out. I was contemplating maybe going with 3 strips on each side, the center being for running lights and a strip above/below for...

    Custom LED taillights...

... another little project I was thinking of doing. At first I'd thought of using the trailer-style waterproof LEDs you get at most trailer supply stores/Autozone/etc... Then I started looking into LEDs and LED strips, turns out they make waterproof versions, but they're a little pricey...

Tall Gears and the 4.3 V6?

It'll be just fine :) My 3-speed is 3.50:1, and so is the 4-speed. Do you know what gear set is in your 3-speed?

    aftermarket wiring harness, or not???

That Highway series harness looks very similar to some of the Ron Francis hanresses. http://www.ronfrancis.com/prodinfo.asp?number=XP-66

    7.5 question

I also have my '78 sitting out, have yet to check the rear to see what it has... do you know what the G-Bodies had (I guess a better question would be which vehicles had the stronger/better posi)? There are several at the junkyards around here, I was thinking about running out & pulling covers...

    led lights

Too much resistance actually. The hazards will probably blink fine, but the left/right flasher will probably blink very fast, if at all. Go here and search for RL-650: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=CAR Or if you want to try Radio Shack, they'll have some...

    7.5 question

This has turned into some good info for me as well  Been tossing around the idea of a posi for the summer, but I'm not really ready to spend the $ on new axles yet (if I got axles I'd go with 28-spline, not really planning on any slick-mounted blasts at the strip). I've been looking at...

You'll probably need a dummy resistor for the blinkers to work right.

    Patriot vortec heads, anygood?

I have another set you can have! :roflback: After putting the Vortecs on I haven't look back, nor will I :P My old truck made a fair amount of torque with the 350 and 193s, but it was over so fast it wasn't a whole lot of fun.

    Patriot vortec heads, anygood?

Yeah, that's why I would likely just go with a home-port job on stock Vortecs (or Vortecs in general). If I was going for higher end I'd probably buy aftermarket.

    Patriot vortec heads, anygood?

That article in the July '05 issue of CHP. "King Vortec" http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/techarticles/148_0507_street_style_vortec_head_test/index.html

    Patriot vortec heads, anygood?

I have an article where they tested several as-cast Vortec style heads (GM and Edelbrock were in the lineup with a few others), and they all made nearly identical power. If you're interested I could try to find the article.

    Del-A-Lum rear bushings...

SO... Del-A-Lums for the rear... first off would the bushings be the same size for 7.5" and 8.5"? I wouldn't mind upgrading the bushings in the rear of the car, but I don't know if I can get a new set for all the way around. The car hasn't seen any track time, was driven daily last summer...

    NEED SOME HELP.

I'm still astounded at the power a stock LQ4 makes with just the carbureted intake and headers :D \:D/ I was looking into an LS swap last year, but the final cost of everything for bolting it in and having it drivable was just way outta my budget :( One day though.
