Reverse vs. standard rotation just defines which direction you mount it (which direction the engine turns it). As far as manufacturer I won't attempt that one.

I would use the darker red (oxblood I think is what it's called), it would go a lot better imo. The regular red would be too bright for your color I think.

You're welcome ;) One reason I know this is because I switched mine to gauges and half of them freaked out the first time I turned the ignition on, turns out part of the plastic for the circuit had separated and some of the copper was all corroded to #$@^. I picked up another circuit board...

I already had the 350, it was sitting in the barn for about 7 years before I built it this past spring. The difference between building a 305/350 and a 383 is you have to start doing custom work to the block to get things to fit. The total cost to build my engine the way it sits is about $700...

I'm pretty sure it's plug & play. Since it has everything that's going to the proper spots, it'll basically be going from a switch (on/off) to a potentiometer (low/high). I would take the guide off the site for reference, and just check for continuity to those wires. If everything lines up...

As far as a sending unit goes, just use a TBI Monte sending unit with the TPI pump, all bolt-in :) Just make sure the rest of the fuel system can hold the pressure. I'm not discounting the performance of a 305, they do perform fairly decent given their size... but when you can put nearly 100%...

You're the one that brought up the displacement argument :lol: I wasn't talking about what you may already have. My point still stands, if you go out looking for an engine, it's not cost-effective to get a 305 over a 350 from a performance standpoint. Period.

If it's stock with a 2.29 it probably won't be overdrive (far as I know Malibus never came with o/d transmissions), and the corner slice is a TH350, 2004Rs are more of a funky shape, like the TH400 is (funky, not the same shape). It may be a TH350 with lockup, which would sound like an o/d...
