    s-10 spindle q's

I'm currently running Belltech S10 2" drop spindles (#2100), everything bolted right up, drove it all summer without issues. Just be sure to get an alignment after changing them.

    '99 Suburban water leak (major)

:roflback: Both my dad & I about puke.gif when we saw the valley. One of these years (unless they trade up to a newer one) it'll probably come out for a rebuild/refresher. So far compression seems to be up on the cylinders (still plenty of power) and it doesn't really burn any oil from my...

    '99 Suburban water leak (major)

That last set of pics was after 3½ or so hours of working on it. We went back out shortly after my last post & worked on it again 'til about 20 minutes ago. This is where we are currently. Bypass hose for the rear heater, intake plumbing, cap/rotor/plugs need to be done, along with the...

    '99 Suburban water leak (major)

 I know, you can tell how a previous owner took care of it  It has about 179,000 miles on it... I bet my '92 4.3 Sierra with 210,000 miles isn't this bad (took an '88 motor apart back in '01ish that wasn't near this bad with just as many miles)... my dad says he's taken 50+ year old...

    '99 Suburban water leak (major)

Nasty, nasty, nasty! Someone didn't take care of it :( That & the intake gasket's probably been fried for some time. Took the spider out, gonna wash it off & the rocker covers out, doing the intake by hand (concerns of sensors, injectors, etc.), and we're gonna run some Seafoam through...

    5.3 or 6.0l ?

Sometimes that's part of the fun. The last harness I tangled with was a TBI one though, not near the wiring of an SFI motor. I may still try it if I can get one extremely cheap (that way if I fail I'm not that far behind), otherwise I'll probably decide on a pre-made one. Wonder how much the...

    Tremec TKO 600

I think the other hydraulic T/O you're talking about is the Weir's one. http://www.weirhotrodproducts.com/id2.html

    '99 Suburban water leak (major)

That's good to know DW. Illegal, we got the $60 Fel Pros today :D It seems to have a weak (not quite collapsed) lifter (at least it bleeds down faster than the others, but pumps right back up with pressure), my dad wants to replace the lifters, but is not quite sure he wants to spend the $ on...

Good times for a 305 :D What all is done to the motor?

    '99 Suburban water leak (major)

Yeah, I have those plastic ones on the 'Bu right now #-o I'll be replacing them with the 98000Ts when I do the rings (so far haven't had any cooling/running issues). Here's where I am on the 'Burb: The underside of the throttle body had lots of carbon on it (plenum is pretty well caked too)...

Very nice indeed, now I actually know what the '78 medium green looked like  Mine was painted before I got it.

    '99 Suburban water leak (major)

Couldn't wait... not a bit tired so I started tearing into it. Found out with about 99% certainty that it's the intake gasket :x At least it wasn't something expensive  I guess this is what they were talking about them doing after they aged eh? So far the one on the 'Bu hasn't done it...

78 malibu peice below the rear window

In this case you are probably going to try to find a donor car that's intact in that area, or have it made from scratch. I don't know of any replacement pieces for that area, all the ¼ panel replacement pieces I've seen have been from the body line and below.

    '99 Suburban water leak (major)

It's my mom's... she asked me if I could take it into town & fill it up. No problem. Got to the opposite side of town (maybe 3-4 miles), the gas station I was headin' for was closed. Heading back, halfway through town I lost heat, so I had a feeling something was amiss. Sure enough, when I...

    relay panel questions

Another thing that may help would be to get an actual relay socket, if you had to change a bad relay you just unplug the old one & plug the new one in :) Actual shape may vary from that, but it conveys the idea I have. You can probably pick up one that could be mounted to a panel as well...

    Cragar Soft 8s, or...

I was actually thinking for the 'Bu. The truck I'm still on the fence, but still think Soft 8s would be cool. Being aluminum those Camaro wheels should bring a lower unsprung weight to the car.

    Saginaw cluster gear...

Yep, that's something I would assume, my main question was concerning whether or not the cluster gear is the same (besides the tooth count). I figured they were all the same internally, just wanted to make sure.

    Saginaw cluster gear...

I found one on E-Bay, it should fit mine correct? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280283451464&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&viewitem=#ebayphotohosting Ad says it's for Vega, Monza, etc., but I don't see why that would make it different from mine. Isn't just the...
