Information from Chevy High Performance Magazine 3/2001

you will have to get rims with probably a 6.5 b/s. i have a 12 bolt from a 66 chevelle and my rims are 5.5 b/s, the control arms for mine went right in with no problem and the spring perches were bang on too.

when i did mine i changed the driveshaft to a bigger one so it had to be shortened, and youll have to get different u-joints. it is a pretty easy bolt in. 550 is a great deal.

If you still have factory upper and lower control arms, you will have a little problem bolting the upper control arms on because the upper ears on the 12bolt are a little different geometry than the stock 7.5" rear end and they cause the control arms to bind a little, but with a little persuation the stock control arms will go on. IMO you need to at least buy a set of adjustable upper control arms with rod end style end. Using the 12bolt with factory control arms also produces a wierd pinion angle that can be corrected by redrilling the holes in the lower mounts on the rear end and in the upper control arm on the end that bolts to the upper ears on the rear end. On my car the driveshaft length was fine but I did have to change to a conversion style Ujoint. My car is lowered a little so if yours is stock height you may have to shorten the driveshaft. Good luck with it.
