275/40 on a 8" wheel?

Just like it says. Has anyone put a 274/40r17 on a 17x8 wheel? Pics if possible.

My buddies 93 Vette had 275/40/17's all the way around, but I think the wheels were 9.5" but I'm not 100% positive. I'm sure it would fit, but you'd really wear the center of the tread out quick and it wouldnt handle nearly as well as it should with that size tire.

Yeah those vettes had 17x9.5's. Could you put that tire on a 8" rim? Im sure you could. Should you put that tire on a 8" rim? I wouldnt, for the reasons stated above and the fact that I couldnt find any tire manufacturer that recomended them for a 8" wheel.
