Just wondering if anyone is running 275/60's on 7" wide wheels..... I know they fit and look great on 8" wide wheels... But how are they on 7's...
From what I have seen on cars on the street and at local car shows the sidewalls are pulled in too far and you get uneven tread wear along with a spongy feel while driving....like the rear end is loose side to side.
I ran a 275/60 15 BF Goodrich radial TA on a 7" rim on my ElCamino for a summer and a half with out issue. the 7" rim pulled the tire in just enough so that I didn't have issues with it rubbing on the quarter. I use an 8" rim with my drag radials with the same backspacing and they will rub the quarter occasionally. My car is dropped in the back, so it may not be an issue if you have stock springs. The 7" rim makes the tire look fatter. You can see the 275 on a 7" wheel on my car in the visitor's cars section. It is the blue ElCamino on the firts page under Travis Brown. I don't know if the malibu's have more clearance, but I imagine that they would be pretty close
