I tried doing a search and could not find anything. I am curious if the 8.5 Grand National/442 rears are still worth anything or is everyone going to 9" phords? I can't seem to find any for sale anywhere to compare. Thanks.

Ya theres still lots of people grabbing those up, i myself went the 12 bolt route (like to keep it all gm).
No worries........this is the only car I own with a phord rear. I have always been a 12 bolt guy. I am just try'n to get an idea of what this 8.5 rear might be worth nowdays. 20 years ago when I had a bunch of G bodies, those rears were worth gold. Thanks.
You're in MI? I think there's one in Chicago in the parts for sale forum here for $650 if he still has it. Look for the thread entitled 8.5 3.42.
if it helps you i just bought one today complete stock with 3.73 for 850 there is one in st.louis that is appart for 500 with 3.42
I got one from a junk yard for $250 out from under a grand national. it had 3.73 gears in it. check out your local junk yard if you havent already, they may have one. I know its obvious advice but it may help.
