87 suburban 454

i have a 87 suburban with an stock 454ci engine i think it have open chamber heads on it now but i have a set of 3931063 heads that are closed chamber what will be my compression ratio and will it speed up alot or just a little that i will not notice (this is an comlpete stock engine)

i think you will be better off with
the open chamber heads ther more eficent
the closed chambers shroud the
exhoust valve
thats why the 427 s block ridge was taperd

X2 & more importantly, you can't run open chamber pistons with closed chamber heads...

You can put those 063 heads on a flat top 454. Those heads are NOT the bathtub style closed chamber@ 85-90cc.They are semi-open and the chamber wall is laid back on the spark plug side and they measure 100-105cc. Your overall compression ratio will jump from 7.8 to 1 to a staggering 8.6 or so.But,they do have the same intake runners/volume as the 781/049 oval port stuff that works good.

and this is like an 56hp gain right ? :D

do you guys think this is an good combo for my stock 1987 454 750 dp card, performer rpm air gap intake, roller rocker, lunati voodoo cam 268/276 .542/.554 1800-6200, worked 063 heads, 2800-3200 converter

I didn't see he had 063 castings in his post. :oops: 063, 802, 215, 290 are all of the "semi open" design.
